You have been warned!

The Surgeon General warns against use of cigarettes, tobacco and alcohol, these products cause cancer, chronic bronchitis, and liver disease among other illnesses. The FDA warns against prescription drugs, many can cause depression, and blindness, among other issues. The makers of new pills and treatments often follow their commercials with warnings that their new products may cause your illness to worsen. Why is it then with so many warning that “we” continue to trust these products, and continue to consume them hoping for the best results? I think it is because faith in the product’s ability to help outweighs the warnings, at least in our minds. When it comes to life and death, the Bible warns against: Idolatry 1 John 5:20-21 NKJV “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.” When it comes to life and death, the Bible warns against: Sin Matthew 5:29-30 (NKJV) “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Despite these biblical warnings, (and there are many more); many still worship/idolize their cell phone or Facebook page more than Jesus. Many also continue to live riotously on a daily basis with no concern for their soul’s eternal home. Like any warning that is ignored there are consequences…hence the commercials with the fast talker or fine print at the end. Here’s the fine print: Romans 6:23 (NKJV) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” You have been warned. Think about it!
